If you are undertaking an industrial process you may need to install pollution control technology to ensure you comply with legislation. We can assist with the design, build and install of scrubber systems, carbon adsorption systems, oxidizer systems, odour control systems, etc. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with your enquiry.

Occupational Health Services

We are pleased to be able to offer our clients support with occupational health assessments. Various health and safety regulations mean you must ensure your employees are not put at risk from various factors that may damage their health. Our monitoring service will enable you to identify risk and control exposure to comply with regulatory requirements. Our noise service covers personal dose, environmental and background risk assessments along with full octave band analysis to assist you in choosing suitable and sufficient hearing protection. For dust / fumes our service includes personal dose and background monitoring and full laboratory analysis.

Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016

These new regulations are now in force as of 1st Jan 2017. The regulations do not however make any substantial changes and mainly consolidate the 2010 regulations and the raft of amending regulations made in the intervening period. Madexa provide a range of services that benefit clients who are affected by environmental permitting requirements and we are sure we can help with your need. The new regulations can be accessed here

End to the End of Waste Panel and Centralised Determination of Fire Prevention Plans

On 20th December the Environment Agency (EA) confirmed that their Definition of Waste Panel was to be shut down until further notice. This follows a suspension of the service in September. The EA does not currently not have a timescale for any further updates or when the outcome of the review will be known. The panel received enquiries from industry seeking clarification / decisions on what constitutes end of waste meaning a material would therefore fall outside the waste regulation framework.

Around the same time, the EA also announced that they are to end centralised decision making on Fire Prevention Plans

Regional teams will now pick up the role and have received training in doing assessments. The regional teams will work with the now disbanded central team over a 3 month transitional period. The current EA guidance on producing a Fire Prevention Plan can be found here. Plans are required for many operators seeking an Environmental Permit and for existing operators. The requirements extends to some Standard Rules Permits as well.

At Madexa we are experts in environmental permitting – contact us today to discuss your requirements!
